Different Species You May Encounter

Hump Back Whale

Blue Whale

Humpback Whales are the most common whale that you will encounter along the East-coast of Australia as they migrate to warmer waters to be able to keep warm and find habitats thriving with great food sources. They are Baleen whales which means they have a brush like structure in place instead of teeth to be able to capture the food they  require.

Known as the largest mammal in the world and also the biggest whale species to exist to this known day. They are so large that they cover up to approximately 30 metres in length with an approximate weight of 200 tons. Their tongues are so big they are comparative to the size of an elephant with a heart the size of a small automobile. They are a rare occurrence to see along the coast line but when seen they are quite a site.

Southern-Right Whale

Southern-Right Whales are more of Southern Coast type of whale who migrate towards cooler waters. But they are still majestic creatures who are known to be an endangered species of whale. They are a very rare spectacular but they are still seen along the coastline of NSW.

Bottle-nosed Dolphins

Dolphins are very common along the coast lines of Australia as the East coast is thriving with food sources that they require. They are highly intelligent creatures that are well-known to be social and seen as saviours of the sea , as there have been many instances where people have been rescued by dolphins.

Orca

A rare occurrence but Orcas can be spotted along the East Coast of Australia in the warmer temperatures. Is a toothed whale which is a part of the Oceanic Dolphin Family. Orcas are highly intelligent predatorial creatures but they are not dangerous to humans as they know we are not a food source to them.
